Pre/Post Natal Training
Congratulations!
Pre Natal Training
Structured, guided strength training throughout pregnancy
Although your body is going through many changes, exercising while pregnant is one of the most important things you can do for your body (and mind!) and your baby. It is now recommended that even if you were not very active before becoming pregnant, women should commence a training program as soon as you find out you are pregnant (American College of Sports Medicine guidelines*).
Structured, guided strength training throughout pregnancy that focuses on maintaining the strength of your low back, hips and pelvic floor, while maintaining general strength will reduce risk of pregnancy related pain and dysfunction as the bump grows.
This will enable you to be comfortable, active and mobile right up to delivery. There is now also plenty of evidence to support important role regular maternal exercise plays in the developmental health of the baby.
Happy healthy mums = happy healthy babies!
The Benefits of exercising while pregnant include:
- Reduced risk of Gestational Diabetes & pre-eclampsia
- Reduced risk of musculoskeletal issues such as pelvic girdle dysfunction
- Evidence of reduced active labour duration
- Evidence of reduction in assisted delivery methods
- Reduced risk of pre-term labour
- Quicker recovery postpartum
- Increased neuromuscular development of baby and improved motorneural skills
- Reduced risk of childhood obesity

Post – Natal Recovery
Childcare is nature’s original strength and conditioning program
Childcare is nature’s original strength and conditioning program. As your baby grows, you will lift a little more and put more demands on your body every week.
There is more and more evidence now to show that corrective exercise has a vital role to play in the post natal recovery process, most importantly by stimulating damaged tissue healing and recovery, regaining strength and by restoring normal function to your core, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. This will help you not only in your day to day activities but allow you to safely return to more intense exercise without complications, which is so important not only for the health of your body but also for your head as a new mum!
Whether you had a vaginal delivery or C-section, it is important to know that pregnancy itself is a risk factor for pelvic dysfunction. Post-natal rehab and pelvic floor strengthening is just as important for the C- section Mama’s to prevent pain, encourage tissue healing and restore function and strength.
