Pre and Post Natal Training

Congratulations! You have either just found out your expecting or you have recently welcomed a new little bundle of joy into the world!

Although your body is going through changes, exercising while pregnant is one of the most important things you can do for your body (and mind!). It is now recommended that even if you were not very active before becoming pregnant, women should commence a training program as soon as you find out you are pregnant (from recent American College of Sports Medicine guidelines*).

The Benefits of exercising while pregnant include:

  • Reduced risk of Gestational Diabetes
  • Reduced risk of musculoskeletal issues such as pelvic girdle dysfunction
  • Evidence of reduced active labour duration
  • Evidence of reduction in assisted delivery methods
  • Quicker recovery postpartum
